Grandma’s Sugar Cookies

The grand-kids always ask me to make these cookies and it is always a joy to make them for the kids. And with lots of kids around, this is a great recipe.

  • Yields: 8 Dozen

Directions

1Preheat oven to 375 degrees F

2Thoroughly cream oil, butter, and sugar

3Add vanilla and eggs

4Shift all dry ingredients together and stir into batter

5Roll 1 teaspoon dough into soft balls and roll in granulated sugar

6Press dough on a lightly greased cookie sheet

7Bake for 8 to 10 minutes

1 cup oil

1 cup sugar

1 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 eggs

1 teaspoon baking powder

4 cups flour

1 teaspoon cream of tartar
