Homemade Mac and Cheese

This mac and cheese recipe has become a family favorite. The kids always ask me to make this when they come home for the weekends from college.

Homemade Mac and Cheese


1Pre-heat oven to 350°F

2Cook macaroni as directed on package

3While macaroni is cooking melt butter in a 3 quart saucepan over low heat. Stir in flour, salt, pepper, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce.

4Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is smooth and bubbly; remove from heat.

5Stir in milk. Heat to boiling, stirring constanly.

6Boil and stir 1 minute, stir in cheese.

7Cook, stirring occasionally, until cheese is melted.

8Drain macaroni, gently stir macaroni into cheese sauce.

9Pour into ungreased 2 quart casserole and bake uncovered 20 - 25 minutes or until bubbly.

2 cups of macaroni noodles

1/4 cup butter

1/4 cup of flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

1/4 teaspoon ground mustard

1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

2 cups milk

2 cups shredded cheese
