A new twist on Mac and Cheese by combining pressure cooking and the microwave. Not only is it quick, but also health by preserving vitamins and minerals.

Midwest Mac-n-Cheese

Directions

1In base of Micro Cooker, add pasta before covering with salted water.

2Cover the cooker with the lid and lock.

3Place in microwave and set cooking time for 6 minutes.

4Remove cooker from microwave and use the Natural Release Method.

5After about 2-3 minutes, check to see if the pressure reduced fully.

6Once the pressure indicator shows no more pressure, unlock and remove lid.

7Strain pasta, after all liquid has been removed from the base of the cooker, pour pasta back in.

8Next add the shredded cheddar, Swiss cheese, milk, cream and bread crumbs before seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.

9Mix well to combine. If a thinner consistency is desired, add some water and mix before serving.

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups elbow pasta

4 cups water (enough to cover pasta)

1 tablespoon salt

1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

1/2 cup Swiss cheese, shredded

1/2 cup whole milk

1/4 cup heavy cream

1/3 cup seasoned bread crumbs

Salt and pepper to taste
